Java is a necessary evil for Mac Admins, especially in educational environments.(Ahem..Pearson *coughs*). New releases can cause issues with software that is in production. It is sometimes necessary to uninstall Java on the fly. Other times Apple does this for you with their backdoor security tunnel called Xprotect. If you find yourself in a pinch, and need to exterminate Java, keep this simple command handy.
sudo rm -fr /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
