Edit Finder sidebar items OS X

I am often told by clients that their Documents, Music, or Pictures folder suddenly disappeared. In most cases the shortcut in the sidebar was missing, not the actual data. It is very easy to edit Finder sidebar items in OS X. If you are building a Default User Template to deploy to your users, you may consider what the Finder sidebar should look like.

Finder Preferences

To add/remove sidebar Finder favorites, you can go to Finder>Preferences.

Navigate to the Sidebar tab to reveal the menu in which you can add/remove items to your Favorites sidebar.
